Workers rallied at the offices of the Suffolk County legislature in support of the Suffolk County Association of Municipal Employees  (AME) and the Suffolk County Police Benevolent Association (PBA). Among the grievances: County Executive Steve Levy's bid to close the John J. Foley Nursing Home; Levy's replacing Highway Patrol Officers with Deputy Sheriffs on Long Island's highways; Levy's calling union leaders "labor bosses" and calling cops "pigs" as such issues as county workers' benefits, treatment and policy toward immigrant workers etc. Speeches were all recorded live.  This rally represented the first time in recent memory where an independent public employees' union, the Long Ilsand Federation of Labor, Building Trades Unions, The PBA and other law enforcement unions and immigrants rights groups coalesced over issues common to all of them.]]></description>
